Call it the great Apple’s wrath or just Adobe’s misfortune, HTML5 is the perhaps the biggest buzzword in media today. This fight is not all dark on Flash’s defense. Flash still has a huge fan following and 99% of all web browsers have Flash plug-ins. HTML5 on the other hand, doesn’t require a plug-in – it is what the web is made of.
Our focus is T-Shirt Designer tools and other product designer tools likewise. The biggest dilemma in these when it comes to Flash is the lack of support on iOS devices. The iPad and iPhone are two devices one cannot afford to ignore by any chance, even though Android and desktop Operating Systems are widely used too. The volume of iOS users is huge and moreover they are usually the more affluent ones considering the cost of devices that run the OS, unlike Android which is pretty much available on any smart phone.
DecoNetwork, LiveArt, Riaxe and a few smaller ones have a HTML5 T-Shirt Designer Tool in the market. We tried everything. DecoNetwork seems to be the oldest in the lot with lots of clients. Riaxe seems to be newest kid on the block, and their software is actually not out yet. It is available on Pre-Order. The reason we put it up here is that they have a live demo page and it does seem very impressive to say the least. There are excellent masking options that set it apart from both deco and liveart. Their claims sound good, like a backend desktop admin which off course theoretically would be better than web interfaces. That means they are not limited to PHP based E-Commerce stores. What needs to be seen is what they deliver. Deco seems to be a good bet now considering their experience and market share. Riaxe too seems to be a full fledged IT company; their portfolio seems strong with BMW, Coca Cola, Citibank etc. We contacted the company and they said their backend admin is in the final phase of completion. For now, we would reserve our comments until we have seen the whole product.
